FREE SVG – Scalloped Valentine Heart Frame

Here is a cool lil Valentine’s Day frame. I created this file myself – feel free to use it however you wish. Enjoy!! :-)

Tip: If you want your frame to have a rectangle cut out of it like the second image above, please insert a rectangle from the SCAL Shapes window (before or after you open this frame’s file in SCAL). Then, just align the rectangle and the Scalloped Valentine Heart Frame vertically and horizontally (which puts them both in the middle of your virtual mat), then highlight them both and move them wherever you want them to cut on the mat. This way, your rectangle is smack dab in the middle of your frame.

Right-cllick here and “Save Target As” to download the file to your computer.

Thanks & have a great day!!

Project: Our Valentine’s Day Cards for School

My daughter and I just finished up the cards that she’ll give to her classmates in celebration of Valentine’s Day. When it comes to SVGs, we used a scalloped heart from SVGShop.com/blog, the red “Be Mine” In a Heart from EINNEJ, and SCAL’s shapes library for the journaling heart on the back. For tools, we used our Cricut and Cuttlebug (with the swirls embossing folder). Oh yah… And we used our Stamp!t kit to make the “To” & “From” stamp that we used on the backs.

We think they came out great and wanted to share them with you all.

FREE SVG – French Fry Box

Did I hear someone say they needed a french fry box? How about this one?

You can (& probably will) resize this template once you’ve got it open in SCAL or MTC. But, you should keep the “Keep Proportions” box checked. Sometimes box templates turn out OK when we modify their height and/or width without keeping them in proportion. But, to be safe, either practice cutting your non-proportionate template out of cheap paper first, or just stick to “Keep(ing) Proportions” checked. :-)

I made this file myself, so feel free to use it however you wish (for personal or commercial uses).

PLEASE NOTE: I just made this file and have not had the chance to practice cutting it yet. If you get the chance, please let me know how it turned out for you. Please feel free to send pics to email@missvickie.net and let me know if it’s OK to post them on my blog (giving credit to you, the creator of the project).

Right-cllick here and “Save Target As” to download the file to your computer. (This is the new file. It includes the fold lines as a separate layer.) :-)

Please let me know if you ever have any troubles downloading files from my blog.
Please also let me know if you have any requests for artwork that I might have in my collection or might be able to make for you.

Thanks & have a great day!!

Irrelevant to Most of My Readers: To all those looking for “catalytic converters”

For some reason, my blog stats tell me that people are finding my blog by searching for such phrases as “catalatic converters”. I am not sure why searchers of this phrase are landing here exactly, but I did create and I do run a website for my boyfriend, Tim, related to the recycling of catalytic converters. It’s called ConverterGuys.com and you can click here to visit that site. I think that’s probably what you were looking for when you found my blog. :-)

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks,
Vickie :-)

Viewing SVGs in Internet Explorer & Windows

Ever wish you could view your SVG files like you do with JPGs, GIFs, etc.? You know what I mean… view them along side all your other thumbnail images within a Windows folder on your pc or full-sized in Internet Explorer.

I’m not sure how Mac computers work, but I know that those running Windows XP (and likely Vista) or prior are unable to view SVG thumbnails or images in Internet Explorer. But, there’s a solution! Just download either the IE plug-in or Windows plug-in available here: http://www.examotion.com/index.php?id=product_player_download

Now, you don’t need to save any more JPG versions of your SVGs just so you can view them in IE or their thumbnails in Windows – by eliminating all those JPGs, you save about 50% of the computer memory spent on cutting files! :-)

Tip: try not to let your digital artwork folders (on your pc) become too full. Trying to load a lot of SVG thumbnails at once can freeze up the window(s) you have open at the time. I just do my best to keep folder sizes small by breaking larger folders down into smaller ones (aka: breaking down my art topics folders into sub-topic folders). Then all the folder’s thumbnails load without freezing up the window.
